National Archives - Digital Continuity Project

Heleen led the commercial workstream for the Digital Continuity Project which was set up to put in place a private-sector led technology solution for the issue of continuity in the government's digital record keeping.  This entailed testing supplier appetite for the proposition, developing an innovative procurement process, and building a ‘bottom up’ business model based on the National Archive's own technology.

SCRAN - Interim Chief Executive

An interim position for 4.5 month, Heleen succeeded in closing a funding gap for this online repository of Scottish images, now part of the RCAHMS.

British Library - partnership selection

Heleen worked with the British Library team to identify the best partnership strategy for the tender for a new Open Access healtcare repository (PubMed). Our strategy meant we were able to neutralise the competition and the bid was successful.

Overseas investor - Biophotonics

An oversea investor had identified an academic at a leading Scottish University with exciting IP in the area of biophotonics. Heleen was engaged to identify the product roadmap and build a viable business plan.

On occasion, promising technology start-ups will receive guidance on their strategy and growth plans on a pro bono basis.
